TV: Boob Tube Crushes
Dean is sexy in a manly way and Sam is cute boy-next-door type. The looks of these two characters encourages me more to watch Supernatural, aside from my natural disposition to dig shows that are into urban legends and the paranormal.
Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) of CSI: Miami
I really like Eric's character though he's quite a magnet for trouble. Delko is a fingerprints and drug-identification expert, and the team's frogman. As Megan Donner had put it, "he's the only CSI in Miami who can process a crime scene in fifty feet of water." And aside from the characters traits one other thing that I like about Delko is that the actor who plays him, Adam Rodriguez, is hot.
Martin Fitzgerald (Eric Close) of Without A Trace
FBI Special Agent Martin Fitzgerald is intelligent, kind, principled and yeah, gorgeous.
Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) of Bones
FBI Agent Seeley Booth is not all brawn. Though he's no genius compared to the scientists at the Jeffersonian and has to be corrected a lot of times by partner forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan, he knows how to use his brain. He has a big heart that's full of compassion. He bends the rules sometimes when he follows his heart, but he makes sure he doesn't break them.
And I've always loved David Boreanaz even during the times when he was still the vampire Angel.
MUSIC: Favorite lines from songs
♫ I can pretend each time I see you
That I don't care and I don't need you
And though you'll never see me crying
You know inside I feel like dying ♫
- Anything For You by Gloria Estefan
***I just think these lines describe what I'm feeling lately.
♫ Every change, life has thrown me,
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart,
I'm grateful, for every scar,
Some pages turned,
Some bridges burned,
But there were lessons learned. ♫
- Lessons Learned by Carrie Underwood
***Things happen even if we don't want them to, but at least we should learn from those unfortunate events.
♫ Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on ♫
- Jesus Take The Wheel by Carrie Underwood
***Let go and let God. We don't have control on things, and sometimes, the more we try to be in control, the more we mess things up.
♫ Why do we like to hurt so much?
Oh why do we like to hurt so much? ♫
- That's What You Get by Paramore
***I just like the question 'cause it's so true.
She would change everything for happy ever after.
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster,
But she just needs someone to take her home.
- Beautiful Disaster by Jon McLaughlin
***Something to describe my state right now.
LIFE: What are you passionate about?
I want to die a writer. Writing is my greatest love, and if money wasn't an issue I would love to make writing my source of living. I don't want to stop writing, so even in the most mundane ways I try to incorporate this passion to the things that I do.
Love
This is actually my bane. If I was to put all the efforts that I exerted and passion that I've given to my relationships to some other project, I would have built something so grand already. When I love, I "invest" so much in the relationship. I'm the type of person that believes that you don't stop loving a person just because your official relationship has stopped.
Learning
I like to learn. I don't want to be stuck in just one specialty. I want to be knowledgeable about a lot of things. That's one of the reasons why I loved being an editor for TNC because each day I learn a new thing because of the different files that we encounter.
If given the chance, I would like to go back to school and get second bachelor's degree or maybe a master's degree.
CHRIST
I thank God that I am given the chance to be closer to Him again.
In high school I was part of Student Catholic Action and Youth For Christ. In college, I was part of the Ateneo Student Catholic Action as well. I used to go to Opus Dei study centers. But somewhere a long the way, I got confused and I trusted what I can do rather than what He did, is doing, and will do for me. But now, I am recommitting myself to Christ. I am very grateful that He is my Saviour. I hope that I will never be distant from Him again and that I put my 100 percent trust in Him.

BOOKS: What are on your to-read list?
by Jodi Picoult

by Paullina Simmons

Leningrad 1941: the white nights of summer illuminate a city of fallen grandeur whose beautiful palaces and stately avenues speak of a different age, when Leningrad was known as St Petersburg.
Two sisters, Tatiana and Dasha, share the same bed, living in one room with their brother and parents. It is a hard, impoverished life, yet the Metanovs know many who are not as fortunate as they.
The family routine is shattered on 22 June 1941 when Hitler invades Russia. For the Metanovs, for Leningrad and for Tatiana, life will never be the same again. On the fateful day, Tatiana meets a brash young officer named Alexander.
Tatiana and her family suffer as Hitler's army advances on Leningrad, and the Russian winter closes in. With bombs falling and the city under siege, Tatiana and Alexander are drawn to each other in an impossible love. It is a love that could tear Tatiana's family apart, a love that carries a secret that could mean death for anyone who hears it.
Confronted on the one hand by Hitler's unstoppable war machine, and on the other by a Soviet system determined to crush the human spirit, Tatiana and Alexander are pitted against the very tide of history, at a turning point in the century that made the modern world.
***This book is recommended by my friend, Joline. This is the most well-known book of Paullina Simmons.***

Una Cavan doesn't believe in ghosts. But ghosts seem to believe in her. At least, her father's ghost does, walking into and out of her life as casually as if he were entering and exiting a room. Una has always believed the Cavan women had the power of witches, and from the beaches of Connecticut to the bustle of New York City they've shared the special unbreakable bond of sisters. No man has been able to come between them…until Lily marries the "perfect" man and begins to drift away and Margo gets engaged. With another failed relationship behind her, and a thriving career as an actress ahead of her, Una wonders if she's destined to be alone–or if there isn't something more, something magical that life has in store for her. Then an unexpected encounter gives her the answer she's been seeking.
Next Door Savior
by Max Lucado

No matter where you live, you have a next door Savior who loves you more than you can ever imagine. That's the greatest news of all.
***This book is a non-fiction book. This is by my favorite Christian writer Max Lucado. Eugene highly recommended this book to me. I'm in the middle of reading this book. I really love the way Max Lucado writes because his books are so light and so witty, and yet are full of good messages.
and were only allowed to bring five things, what would those be?
A Big Cooler Full Of Food and Drinks

Necessities first before sentiments. How would I survive without food and water??? And yeah, it should contain chocolates and apple juice as well!
Matches
I'll use the matches to create fire, cook food, light up stuff, and when I get bored, make a matchstick tower.
My Book Collection
I
love my books so much, I don't want to be parted from them. And since
I'll have lots of time to spare, I'll be able to read them cover to
cover.
My Scrapbooks
I love making scrapbooks. When I stopped writing on diaries, my
scrapbooks served us documentation of my life. So, when I got nothing
to do in that desert island and missing everyone else, I'll just look
at my scrapbooks.
Pen and Paper
Who said that I'd stop writing just because I'm in a desert island? Of
course not. Though I'm not sure what will be inspiring about being in a
desert island... Hmm...
Soy Sauce + Chili Sauce and Everything
There was a phase in my life that I got really addicted to chili sauce. Lunch at the office is incomplete if I don't have the soy sauce-chili sauce combo on my viand or in my rice. I bought some stash of chili sauce for me to have at home as well.
Coke and Chocolate
If you eat something sweet and you drink Coke, the taste of Coke becomes weird. But even though that happens I still eat chocolate while drinking Coke.
Tofiluk and Coffee
It's not really a weird combination, but it's the habit that's kind of weird. I don't drink hot coffee a lot. I prefer iced coffee. But since I've been in the graveyard shift for quite some time I had to tolerate hot coffee because there's no available iced/cold coffee in the vendo at the pantry. I think coffee is more bitter when it's hot, so I need chocolate to neutralize the bitterness. Yeah, it has to be Tofiluk. I dunno why.
***When the category for Sunday Scribbles is food, I end up not writing a lot. Anyway, the stuff I eat are normal, I guess. Haha. I'm not experimental when it comes to food. ***
Sunday Scribbles for March 23, 2008
FILM: FAVORITE QUOTES
Harry Burns (Billy Crystal): I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.
Practical Magic (1998)
Sally Owens (Sandra Bullock): Sometimes I feel like there's a hole inside of me, an emptiness that at times seems to burn. I think if you lifted my heart to your ear, you could probably hear the ocean. The moon tonight, there's a circle around it. Sign of trouble not far behind. I have this dream of being whole. Of not going to sleep each night, wanting. But still sometimes, when the wind is warm or the crickets sing... I dream of a love that even time will lie down and be still for. I just want someone to love me. I want to be seen. I don't know. Maybe I had my happiness. I don't want to believe it but, there is no man, Gilly. Only that moon.
Practical Magic (1998)
Sally Owens (Sandra Bullock): Can love really travel back in time and heal a broken heart?
Practical Magic (1998)
Young Sally Owens (Camilla Belle): The guy I dreamed of doesn't exist. And if he doesn't exist, I'll never die of a broken heart.
Never Been Kissed (1999)
Josie Geller (Drew Barrymore): You know, Adelie penguins spend their whole lives looking for that one other penguin and when they meet them, they know. And they spend the rest of their lives together.
Never Been Kissed (1999)
Josie Geller (Drew Barrymore): That thing, that moment, when you kiss someone and everything around becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and this person and you realize that that person is the only person that you're supposed to kiss for the rest of your life, and for one moment you get this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry because you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that that it will go away all at the same time.
The Bachelor (1999)
Priest (James Cromwell): It's a wonderful thing, as time goes by, to be with someone who looks into your face, when you've gotten old, and still sees what you think you look like.
The Bachelor (1999)
Jimmie Shannon (Chris O'Donnell): I'm not interested in your goddamn vagina, all right? I just want to marry you!
Legally Blonde (2001)
Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon): I just don't think that Brooke could've done this. Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't.
Sweet Home Alabama (2002)
Melanie Carmichael (Reese Witherspoon): The truth is I gave my heart away a long time ago, my whole heart, and I never really got it back.
Sweet Home Alabama (2002)
Jake Perry (Josh Lucas): Nobody finds their soul mate when they're ten. I mean, where's the fun in that, right?
A Cinderella Story (2004)
Sam's Dad (Whip Hubley): Fairy tales aren't just about finding handsome princes. They're about fulfilling your dreams and about standing up for what you believe in.
Pixel Perfect (2004)
Xander (Brett Cullen): Silicon is a great thing, you can mold it into glass or turn it into microchips. But it's not alive. If you try to look for perfection in living people, you'll end up having more breakfasts alone.
Just Like Heaven (2005)
Jack Houriskey (Donal Logue): God made alcohol as a social lubricant. To make men brave, and to make women loose.
***Okay, shoot me. I have a lot of favorite quotes, I'm into chick flicks and I love Reese Witherspoon...***
TV: YOUR FAVORITE VILLAINS
Ari Haswari is a fictional character in the TV series NCIS played by Rudolf Martin. A terrorist and rogue Mossad agent, he was the arch-enemy of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Special Agent Gibbs speculated that he was the kind of person who had to face death in order to feel alive.
He's smart. He's charming. He's dangerous. You're not sure whether he's really on the enemy's side or a double agent working for the American government, well, not until he shot Agent Caitlin Todd in the head. But he is an interesting character
From the Miniature Killer of CSI to the Mala Noches of CSI: Miami to the Tanglewood boys of CSI: NY and to every crook, rapist and killer of all the CSI shows, I appreciate them. If not for them, what crime would the CSIs solve? Yes, I'm a CSI fan.

Lex Luthor of Smallville
Another charming but dangerous character. He is a lot different from
the Lex Luthors in the comics series and in the other Superman movies
and shows. And I love how Michael Rosenbaum plays this character.
note: I had a hard time doing this one... I can't think of a lot of villains.
A lot of people know that I'm a fan of country music, thus the love for Carrie Underwood and Shania Twain. But I also like some pop and alternative stuff, and I'm into Christian Contemporary Music (Christianity + rock = cool).
Spice Girls
I love the Spice Girls. Everytime me and my GND barkada go to Red Box Videoke Bar we always sing Spice Girls songs. I like dancing to their songs as well. Girl power!
"Wannabe" - the most famous of all the Spice Girls song. It's very energizing. I love its video, and I dance steps are so cute.
"Stop" - this also has a cute video and cute dance steps.
"Who Do You Think You Are" - for all the annoying "feeling" guys out there.
"Holler" - I like dancing to this song
Britney Spears
Yes, I admit. When I was in high school I was a fan of Britney. Yes, this is all before K-Fed, way before the manic depressions. I love her first album. With ETM 19 as my witness, my familiarity with the lyrics of most of her songs showed that I was a fan.
"Sometimes" - cute choreography on the video
"Born To Make You Happy" - this could be a nice motto in life. Haha.
"From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart" - one of her few undanceable songs. Hehe.
Disney OSTs/Songs by Disney Artists
Disney songs are so cute and I like the lyrics of most of them.
"I Won't Say I'm In Love" from Hercules - a great song for a denial queen like me
"The End Of The Line" by Cheetah Girls - who ever thought that Disney can produce a break-up song. Haha.
"Notice Me" from Pixel Perfect - for girls with unrequited love/feelings.
Christian Comtemporary Music
Got
into this because of my brother who's into rock and alternative. We
watch a lot of JCTV for the music videos of Christian rock/alternative
bands.
"That's What You Get When You Let Your Heart Win" by Paramore - a favorite song of mine, just Google the lyrics to see why.
Get A Book Published
I
want to have a children's book that I've written be published. I still
haven't completed the one that I've been writing for quite sometime
now, and I need to revisit the story we've written for our thesis. When
I'm ready with them, I'll peddle them to the main publishing companies
for children's books here in the country.
Win An Award For Writing
I
want to enter the Palanca Awards, but I still have to decide what
category do I really want to enter to. Hopefully, I'll be able to
decide by next deadline of entries.
Go To As Many Islands In The Philippines As I Can
The
Philippines has 7. 107 islands and I've only been to a very few of
them. I'd like to explore the Philippines more. I know that there are a
lot of beautiful places in this country and I want to see and
experience them.
Go To Spain
I
don't know where the heck I'll get the money, but I really, really,
really want to go to Spain! The place itself and its culture just
simply lures me.
Go To Canada
I
still don't want to live in Canada but I want to go there, even for
just a couple of months, so that I can visit my grandfather's grave and
to see my cousins and nephews that had been born there that I only see
in pictures. (Now, where will I get the money for this trip as well?
Hmm...)
Bungee Jump
I
am really afraid of heights but riding planes and riding rollercoasters
had helped me lessen my phobia. I think after bungee jumping, I'll
completely lose that phobia. Hehe...
Have A Family Of My Own
I don't know when since I'm not in a relationship right now, but it'll happen someday. Hehe...
Tell Someone That Once Upon My Life I Loved Him
I'll
tell it to him someday, but that's in the far, far future, when we can
both laugh at it. Right now, we're too busy with other stuff, we won't
appreciate the thought.
